7th, 1924 : The club
was established in Cairo as a tourist
and social club, it was known as the
“Royal Automobile Club”.
- Crown
Prince Mohamed Ali
was the first chairman of the club
.
- Since
May 27th, 1967: The
club took the name of “Automobile
& Touring Club of Egypt”
& was supervised by the Ministry of
Youth and Athletics until 1971.
- December
16, 1971:
The Presidential Decree “No. 3035/1971”
was issued so as to place The Automobile
& Touring Club of Egypt under the
supervision of the Ministry of Tourism.
- In order to realize its objectives
locally and internationally , the
club had joined : The
Federation International de l`Automobile
(FIA) & The Alliance International
de Tourisme (AIT) since 52 years.
